Blogging Tips To Avoid Information Overload

Today, I wish to share to you some blogging tips to defeat information overload. Information overload is not only unhealthy but it also makes you, as a blogger, less efficient.

Information overload is paralyzing. There is so much information coming at us that we simply cannot process it all.

Your full life never stops making priceless memories... where do you put all those stories? Family Tree Child Theme is a safe and imaginative home for your family's unforgettable moments.

This is very common among newcomers to internet marketing who often get so overloaded that they do not know where to begin.

Information overload leads to feeling overwhelmed which causes stress and in turn leads to procrastination and avoidance.

This is a very vicious circle.

14 tips to break the vicious circle of information overload:

1. Clearly define your goals.

Information overload can often be attributed to a lack of direction and purpose. Define what you want to accomplish. Be extremely specific.

2. Identify the actions required.

After you have defined your goals, identify the core activities that will help you achieve them. Again, be specific. For example, you may note the following:

* keyword research

* writing blog posts with these keywords

* submitting articles using these keywords

* promoting posts and submissions using social media

3. Take appropriate action.

Focus on one of the core activities until you have it completed. Only read and reference material that relates directly to that core activity.

4. Set a time limit.

Allow yourself a specific time period, say, one hour, to complete a task.

5. Don't worry about being perfect.

Often we procrastinate because we feel we have do do something "just right". So we gather a ton of information, get overloaded, and procrastinate more. Results come from taking action. Don't worry, you cannot fail. If something did not turn out right, you are one step closer to learning how to do it better the next time.

6. Make a "to-do" list with 3-5 daily tasks.

Review this list before you go to bed. I remember reading an excellent article by Mike Dillard, a very successful network marketer, on how he uses Notepad to create his daily "to-do" list.

Imagine that, plans that led to huge business success, all started on a simple, free software.

7. Finish a task from your action list first.

Do NOT open your email, or do anything else for that matter, until you have completed at least one task from your daily "to-do" list. If you can do this and be consistent, you will be successful.

8. Decrease the information coming at you.

You really can do without much of the stuff that comes at you everyday. Unsubscribe from lists, magazines, newspapers, and turn off the television.

9. Schedule time to keep up with new information.

Set aside one hour, once or twice a week, to catch up with the latest news. You should be able to discover a small, select set of resources that will keep you up to date. This doesn't sound like much time, but you should be too busy running your business and engaging in actions that are producing results to care.

10. Give yourself time to learn new habits.

Overcoming information overload and applying the above steps involves developing new habits. This takes time. Set some small goals like this:

* for this week I will get two tasks finished before I open my emails

* this month I will get three action items completed every day

11. Take it one day at a time.

If you create and review your "to-do" list at night before bed, you should wake up in the morning with a good idea of what you need to do TODAY. Just focus on completing items from your list today.

Don't beat yourself up about yesterday, it's gone. Don't fret about tomorrow, it's not even here yet. Tell yourself, "Just for today, I will get these things done."

12. Don't overload your list.

As a matter of fact, keep it small and very achievable. It's much better to get two things done than none at all. This will lead to feelings of accomplishment and create positive feedback.

13. Reward yourself.

After you get your list done, do something that you enjoy. Set this up beforehand.

Tell yourself, "I will get my list done and then [fill in the blank]."

14. Set aside quiet time each day.

Your mind needs a break from processing information. Take some time each day, even only for 5 minutes, and just relax in a quiet place.

The key to overcoming information overload is taking action. This often means facing your fears. Fear is the one obstacle to making money online. Confront your fears head on, develop new habits, and smash information overload once and for all.

Thank you for your time.

The 8 Mistakes You Need To Avoid When Blogging For Money

Avoid these 8 mistakes that most bloggers do when they blog for money.

This super-clean, lip-smacking theme was designed for bloggers and publishers who want to frame their work in professional... joy. Luscious Child Theme for the Genesis Framework. Gorgeous color, six beautiful layout options, and drag-and-drop widgets make it easy for you to get going. So, want to get going with Luscious? While many blogs exist, not all of them are successful. So what is it that makes a blog fail? Several things do but here are 8.

1) Not having a goal for blogging.

Before you start a blog, ask yourself, what do I want to achieve with this blog? I believe answering that question objectively will assist you stay on focus.Just blogging for blogging sake will lead you nowhere.Fashion out a specific and realistic goal for your blog.

2)Content isn't updated regularly.

With a blog, you need to post at least once a week to keep the search engines interested and sending you traffic.I make posts almost on a daily basis and if you must succeed as a blogger, you need to update your blog frequently.A blog that is not frequently updated is at best no blog at all.

3) The content isn't targeted.

If your content isn't targeted and is too broad, no one will read your content; stay on your blog or return. Focus on the focus of your blog and I tell you, you will make good money sooner than you can ever imagine.I see people make this mistake often.Posting articles on internet marketing on a mother care blog. Please avoid this if you want to suceed as a blogger.

4) Another mistake is to write about a topic you don't care about just for money.

You have to be able to sustain your own interest over the long term, or blogging about the topic will be too much of a chore to keep up.Write about a topic you are passionate about. That is the only way to be able to constantly write fresh content and put in all the effort required to build your blog into a success.

5)Giving up too easily and too early.

Our expectations of instant gratification in the internet age make us impatient for results. Sure, there are bloggers who get instant success, getting 2,000 readers a day within 2 weeks of launching a blog. But that kind of success is the exception, not the norm. A successful blogger said that blogging is not a sprint but a long distance marathon. The ones with consistency and perserverance will triumph ultimately simply because the others have given up too soon.

6)Expecting people to visit.

Most of us make this mistake when we begin blogging. When I first started out I had no idea how to attract new readers, commenters, interaction etc. I had the impression that if I published new content I'd automatically find readers in my niche.
How wrong I was.Successful blogging involves time, effort, and reaching out to fellow bloggers / publishers / authors (whatever you prefer).

7)Underestimating the time commitment.

Blogging is not for lazy people,it is for people who are serious about making a living online,so,don't underestimate the time commitment. It requires time to research your articles, write them and publish them.

8)Not using original articles.

Your blog is not an article directory,so,don't make it one by using the articles of other people which you get from article dirctories.Blogs have emotional appeal and I know people who visit certain blogs just because they like the owner of the blog,so,it's best you use your own articles most of the time.Even though you can get free articles from article directories, use them sparingly.Find time to write your own articles and build a rapport with your readers.I can tell you, this will go a long way in making your blog an authority blog. And people will visit just because they want to read your articles.

If you watch out for these 8 mistakes, you're already way ahead of the crowd. And I tell you, your blog will be the better for it.

Blog Tips

There's a fine line between a note scribbled on a page, and a fully-formed, powerful idea. The Scribble Theme captures both sides of that line, and frames your work in it.

Scribble Child Theme combines the classic and the hand-made, to provide a unique template for your photos, text, and video. We know there's a scribbler in you, now you've got your theme...

The trick here is to pick a niche topic that is very popular, then we help you set up a blog to contain your posts. It's a good idea to post four or five short news articles on your blog every day (you can find many by just doing a search on the internet). Once your blog is up and running, we then show you how to have ads automatically generated from the topics you post. These ads will link to relevant affiliate products.

This is a brand new money making opportunity developing on the internet as we write this. It's an opportunity that a few smart, tech savvy people have been secretly using for at least 7 years but for most internet users it is still a mystery.

This opportunity is not really about a new technology at all. Rather, it is a faster, simpler and easier way for people to find the exact information they are looking for on the internet.

These are Blogs and in the very near future Blogs will take over the internet and become as commonplace and widely uses as search engines are today. People that understand and start creating Blogs now will be the ones that cash in on the coming Gold Rush as the masses of internet users begin to use them on a regular basis.

Blog stands for Web Log. (weB LOG - get it?) It is basically a journal that other internet users can read on the web.

Generally, postings on a blog are arranged in chronological order with the most recent addition displayed first.

When you update your blog, it is called "blogging" and the person who maintains a blog is called a "blogger."

Blogs are usually tightly focused on a very specific topic and that makes them user friendly to internet users. Instead of searching through pages of search engine listings looking for the updated information about their desired topics, they can visit your blog. Once there, they can click on ads of relevance, thus generating you income day after day!

Hope that helps.

The Top 10 Secrets of Successful Authors

If you are not a successful author yet, incorporate the following ten secrets:

Somehow, it's old and new.

The best vintage child theme pieces point back in history, and look forward, defining the future. Wrap your photos, your words, and your audio in the feel of another time. An unforgettable times.

1. Treat your book as a business.

You spend many hours creating a masterpiece to help your audience. It follows then, you need to set up a regular time schedule to market and promote it.

2. Create a flyer for each book you offer.

Hand out your flyer at business meetings or at any public place. Ask your audience to pass the flyer along to friends and associates. Offer one free report or ezine on the flyer to get new email addresses to send promotion to later.

3. Create a line or two about your book in your signature file that goes on every email you send.

After your name, title, and benefit statements, add something like: eBk: "Write your eBook or Other Book--Fast!" Include your addresses and phone numbers too.

4. Invest some money in book marketing.

Contact a book coach and schedule a low-cost introductory session to see if you are a match and will get what you need. Many authors print too many copies or use an expensive service to get book finished instead of putting aside an equal amount to market it.

5. Take a teleclass on how to market your book.

These low cost and low time investments can make your book the great seller it should be. Discover inexpensive ways to market via the phone and email. How convenient!

6. Don't get fooled by high-cost services.

If it's too good to be true, it isn't true. When you hire someone to do it all for you, it can cost over $1000 a month with small results. Check out what services fit your budget, and get a realistic picture of what your results will be.

7. Delegate some of the marketing.

Like me, hire a low-cost computer assistant from your local high school. They know more than many professionals. For under $10 an hour, you can multiply your promotion exponentially via ecommerce your assistant does for you 2-3 times a week.

8. Set a dollar goal for your book each month.

Don't count copies sold. Count each month's book sales. Put your goal near your workstation to remind you of what you want. Don't price your book too low, so you'll appreciate an easy experience--getting what you deserve for all your work.

9. Learn more about Internet book marketing.

Think about reaching hundreds of thousands of your audience every week. When you give them what they want--free information--they will eventually buy. Many authors go the traditional path of talks, ads or press releases. They don't always pay well for the effort.

10. Don't stop marketing.

Many clients come to me and say they are discouraged their book didn't sell well in four months. Replace doubt with patience for the process. Success takes many months, but once you get it, the Internet keeps it multiplied for you.

Knowing the secrets of successful authors can help you receive the same prestige and become a household word.

Have A Solution For A Problem

After you have discovered who your niche market is, you need to examine them to find out what products or services they are looking for. It's best to discover people's wants and then provide it, instead of creating a product and then trying to locate a market.

Want to capture those very precious moments in time without losing the meaning of them?

The gorgeous layout and color palettes of the Pure Elegance child theme will keep those pristine memories and showcase them for the world to see.

Visit some chat rooms where people from your niche market are likely to hang out. Sign up for some email lists they are likely to get. Analyze any information you find and try to locate a common problem that niche market has.

Once you discover a common problem, develop a solution. This is the easiest way to find an obvious void in the marketplace and fill it. This will help ensure you have an eager market for your service or product.

Remember, people are not online for a hard sell, but rather they are looking for information, things that will make their lives easier and for solutions to their problems. They will keep returning to you, if you solve their problem by giving them the exact solutions they need.

Remember, when you have a home business or any business, do not sell them, help them!

When you create a solution to a common problem shared by a niche market, you make your online business a valuable resource. This is the way to position the product or service you plan to sell online when you are ready to become an home business entrepreneur!

And Remember: Benefits, Not Features Are What You Need To Concentrate On

You will never earn a single penny with you home business unless you convince your prospects that they need your service or product and can afford it no matter how great a product or service you have.

You must put the focus on how your service or product will BENEFIT the customer. They need to know how it will solve their problems and make their lives easier. Do this and you online business will prosper.

The features of whatever you are selling have to be turned into compelling benefits. I learned this back in the 1980's from a guy named Wade Cook who wrote How To Build A Real Estate Money Machine. He would buy houses on contract and turn around and sell them on contract thereby generating a nice monthly income. But when selling his houses, he always strived to sell the benefits like, it's close to the school or near shopping areas, etc. You MUST do the same with your product or service.

Put simply, a feature is a simple fact about your product, but a benefit explains what advantages your customers will actually derive from using the product. You have to paint a picture for them.

Benefits are not "quality and service" or "cheapest". They are answers to "why should I keep reading?" or "what's in it for me?" or "why should I order?"

Every feature of your product offers at least a couple of benefits. You must figure out what they are. If you cannot come up with any, the talk to some of your customers or potential customers. Ask what they like about your product and how has it benefited them.

What Blogging Can Do For Your Business?

Any business model can benefit from adding a web log to their domain.

There is certainly nothing new about the concept of blogging, and yet many business owners and Internet entrepreneurs don’t seem to grasp the power of this simple strategy. This is evidenced by the fact that many business websites do not include a blog.

If you run a business site, but do not currently have a blog, there is a great chance that you are leaving money on the table. Regardless of what kind of business you are in, a dynamic and interactive web log will improve customer response and add profits to your bottom line.

Consider this:

When you use a web log as the platform for your newsletter or ezine, you can post each of your promotions to the web, and then invite your subscribers to your blog to view your most recent update. When readers follow the link from your email to your latest blog post, they will not only have the opportunity to respond to the current promotion, they will be able to browse your blog and take action on offers you made last week, last month, even last year.

Quite often when I mail my list about my latest blog post, I end up making new sales on a promotion I did some time ago. And since my blog is linked to all of my other web sites, it’s easy for me to generate traffic for multiple products and services with just one mailing.

And blogging is a great way to generate new web traffic for your domain. By setting your blog software to ‘ping’ search and directory portals each time you make a post, you can alert a large number of people about your new content with the single click of a button.

Also, search engines are more likely to spider your site on a regular basis if you update your content frequently. With blog software, making changes to the text on your web pages is as simple as sending an email; you just fill in a subject line and post body, and then click ‘submit’.

You can even configure your blog so readers are able to leave comments and questions about your articles. They don’t have to take the time to send you an email, they can just click on the comments link and post their feedback right there on the spot. This is one of the easiest ways possible to encourage productive interaction among your prospects and customers.

Blogging requires no special technical knowledge. Sure there is an advanced side to this marketing strategy, but just adding a web log to your domain and making posts on a regular basis can improve your traffic flow and customer response tremendously.

Keyword Selection and Website Optimization

Marketing and optimizing a website for search engines is a broad topic. There are many factors to consider when heading out with the goal of improving your website’s visibility and ranking within various search engines. In part one I will discuss the highly requested topic of website keywords. In follow-up articles I will cover additional topics such as page ranking, pay-per-click advertising campaigns, the marketing techniques to avoid, and the latest analysis technologies including eye tracking software.

Choosing the right keywords for a website is an important and informative research task. In the process of improving your website you’ll learn a lot about your industry and your competitors.

Keywords are one the main factors that come into play in the algorithms used by major search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Windows Live Search. If a web surfer is looking for home decorating tips and types ‘home decorating’ into a search engine, it will search its database for websites that contain that phrase and those individual words.

Selecting the correct keywords

If you are an expert in your field, you know what your customers are looking for. Specifically, you know many of the words and phrases your customers would use to describe your products and services. Start with what you know.

Write out a list of phrases and words that describe your business. If you have a home decorating business you may think of words like ‘interior design’ and ‘furnishings’. Sort your list so that the most common phrases are on the top of your list.

You will now want to cross-reference the list of keywords that you have compiled with other lists generated for your industry. This will bring to mind other keywords that you may not have thought of. I recommend using a popular web-based keyword research tool named Wordtracker (http://www.wordtracker.com). Wordtracker helps identify additional keywords and phrases and offers a free trial of their service. It provides only a limited number of related words, but is still a great starting point. Searching for related keywords for ‘home decorating’ with Wordtracker produces a list of keywords like 'home', 'decor', 'decorating', 'home decor', 'furniture', 'design', 'interior', 'interior decorating', 'art', 'wall', and 'fabric'.

Other keyword tools, which produce similar results, are also available. These include, among others, the web-based tools provided by Yahoo (Overture) (http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/), and Google (https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal).

After compiling and merging the various lists of keywords, you’ll be ready to move on to the next step.

Using the correct keywords on your website

Now that you have a clear picture of which keywords web surfers may type into their search engine to find your business, you need to be sure your website contains these important keywords.

A strategy is required when updating your website to include the keywords in your list. Starting at the top of your list, quickly review the keywords. Think about which keywords would naturally be present on your website and which keywords you probably wouldn’t use. Using the first list of keywords, you may now start reviewing the different sections of your website.

Your selected keywords should be placed in various areas of your site with the proper frequency. Your website content should focus on making sense to your visitors, not fed with keywords that will hopefully improve your search positioning. Search engine algorithms can detect the over use of keywords, which can negatively affect your positioning. Let’s now look at different areas of your website.

Website Title

Every website has a title. This is not a website logo or a bold heading found on the top section of a website. The website title is displayed in the web browser’s title bar. This is the top most area of the window located to the far left of the window’s minimize, maximize, and close buttons. The website title is also the text that is displayed in search engine search results, which is often in a larger font and underlined. The website title is the first thing that a web surfer sees when performing a search. Web surfers quickly scan through search result website titles to evaluate which website will meet their needs. This is your first opportunity to grab their attention.

A website title should contain as many of your keywords as possible, while maintaining easy readability. This will do two things for you. First, the search engine will find your website in its database and display your website in their results. Second, the website title will catch the surfer’s interest as they see their search criteria matching your website title. Over-stuffing the title with keywords makes the title difficult to read and may be seen as abuse by search engines. The website title is updated by changing the text located between the opening and closing title tags, in the header of the HTML code (Page Title). The title length should be kept to handful of words. The website description allows more space for describing your products and services.

Website Description

As with the website title, the website description should also contain a variety of keywords. Unlike the website title, the website description is not visible on any part of the website itself. The description is the summary information you see in search engines results, displayed below the website title. The website description gives you a little more space to describe your website and your products and services. Again, be sure that your description is easily readable for your visitors, in order to attract them to click your site title. The website description can be updated by changing the text in the description meta tag, in the header of the HTML code ().

Website Keywords

Along with the title and description entries in the HTML code, there is also an area to define a set of keywords that you’d like to associate to the page. This is called the keyword meta tag. Keywords are entered as a comma separated list, as follows (). The industry consensus is that the keyword meta tag is currently of little or no use with today’s major search engines. However, search engines continue to recommend their usage.

Website Content

This brings us to the meat of our website, so to speak. Our chosen keywords should be used throughout the website content where it makes sense. Again, over-stuffing page content with keywords so that the message is unnatural can be detected by search engines. A good practice is to use the keywords to make the page content more descriptive. For example, a pet store may sell a variety of pet foods. This can be written in a descriptive manner, such as, ‘dog food and cat food’, instead of using ‘dog and cat food’. In this example the keyword ‘food’ is used twice.

Headings and Hyperlinks

Special attention should be given to the usage of heading (This is a Heading) tags and anchor tags (click here). Keyword usage in page heading is more valuable than keywords used in a paragraph of text. The same can be said with anchor tags (a.k.a. hyperlinks). Using keywords as the clickable text of a hyperlink is very valuable.

Keyword Density

Keyword density refers to the percentage of occurrences of your keywords compared to the other text on the web page. Keyword density tools such as Webconfs.com’s Keyword Density Checker (http://webconfs.com/keyword-density-checker.php) provides a visualization of the main theme or message on a chosen page. This tool counts the number of times each word is repeated on the page, which is a good test of how you’ve done at inserting keywords to optimize the content. It is also a good representation of how search engines will see your page. ‘More is better’ is not the most effective keyword density goal. Although the optimum keyword density is much debated, having some balance is definitely in order. A density below 1% makes it difficult for a search engine to understand your main message, where a density over 5% will start to make the content appear unnatural. At this stage in website optimization, the page content can be continually edited while the keyword density is being re-checked. Continue this process until your keywords are among the words with the highest density.

Conclusion

Choosing the correct keywords for your website is a must. Website keyword optimization is not rocket science, but it must be implemented carefully. By using the correct keywords, not only will your site be positioned well in search results, but it will draw visitors to your website.

Solving Your Blog Traffic Troubles When Starting an Online Business

StartBox comes with an incredibly easy-to-use, extendable settings page. This means a quick and painless setup for users and an incredible new level of control for developers.

Having a blog is one of the essential features of owning an online business. If you are just starting an online business, usually you are concerned about how much money it's going to cost you to run your business. Blogging is one free way that you can advertise quickly and effectively, so you don't want to go without.

Once you have set up a free blog through Blogger or Wordpress, you are on your own to create content for your blog. Creating quality content becomes very important if you want to drive traffic to your blog.

Of course the reason you want traffic is because you want to advertise your products and services that you may offer on your website. Another reason to drive traffic to your blog when starting an online business is that you want visitors, and you want repeat visitors.

If your website visitors are exposed to your offers multiple times, chances are more likely that they will come to know, trust, and respect you. It often takes more than one visit before people will consider buying from you, but it's your quality content that will catch their attention in the first place and establish that trust and respect before they buy.

A good way to get repeat visitors is to use RSS on your blog so that visitors can subscribe to your blog and see updates as they happen. Even after that, and some good quality content, it is still often a challenge when starting an online business to get traffic to your blog.

One way to solve this problem is by signing up for blog traffic exchanges that are much like regular traffic exchanges that display your links based on a credit system. For example, you can sign up for Blog Soldiers and everyone who uses the system will get a chance to read your blog when they surf for credits.

A more effective way to build up your blog traffic when starting an online business would be to get involved with blog circles - a network of other bloggers. If you are at all familiar with the new social bookmarking trend in internet marketing, then getting involved in a blog network is very similar.

The idea in social bookmarking is to connect with others online who are also starting an online business, for example. You can publicly bookmark other's posts and everyone can access not only your posts but those you've bookmarked. By commenting on other's posts, you create a ton of new traffic to your site.

A blog network is much the same, where you read content that you are interested in under a common blog category and links are shared within the network by other bloggers. This is much like commenting on a blog and leaving your link at the end for others to access. This creates a whole new wave of traffic to your site, in addition to your other advertising efforts.

Not only can you get more traffic by joining a blog network, but if you want you can even make some money at it depending what network you join. If you do a Google search for "blog networks" you will see the different kinds you can get involved with.

Starting an online business can be intimidating, but if you use free advertising methods like blogging to build your traffic with good quality content, then you will find that other bloggers will want to link to you. Once you're in a network of blog links, you are sure to see your traffic and earnings rise!

Blogging Success: Make Your Blog Look Unique

StartBox currently comes with four highly confugurable widgets, each of which can be used as many times as you like. StartBox also has eight widget-ready areas by default.

Many blogs display the same boring templates or skins for the layout. While the template does not affect readers who enjoy your blog via RSS feed (unless they click through to the blog), but it really affects any other blog visitor who reads the blog from the web browser. The more unique looking a blog design is, the easier it is to build brand recognition and a good name that gets you into viral marketing. If your blog looks like dozens of other blogs, your own blog will not stick out from the crowd and you will lose out on visitors. In the past I have been using free Wordpress templates myself. I applied minor modifications, but it never really separated my blog from others enough to be really unique.

The problem with so many blogs is to find out what is their main specialty. What is the main topic a blogger is writing about? Often there is no way to tell what a blog is about - especially if you enter a blog from an older posting through a search engine listing. The homepage might eventually have a small snippet of text explaining the topic of a blog, but archived articles do not show this normally. Or the blog owner does not even bother at all to tell what his main intent for the blog is. By using a custom blog design this can easily be integrated and helps to make the blog look different from anyone else.

By using a custom header as an example it helps to get the unique look you are looking for. First of all if it is completely unique it makes my blog stick out more. Second it can help you to show what your blog is all about and therefore get people to come back. Make your Blog look unique + make sure your visitors know what your blog is about. Just because they find a (one) posting of your blog that matches their search term, it does not mean that your blog is really of interest to them. But you might be able to catch their interest by pointing out what your blog is really about. If you catch their interest you might gain a new reader that a) comes back to read more from your blog and b) eventually tells others about your great blog.
